India's Independence Day , 15th August

From 1947 to present day, 15th August is annually celebrated as birth of India's Independence day.

Recalling the freedom and End of the British rule on 15 August. IT was NO simple freedom, many lives lost, and many sacrifices made following independence movement.

First time our national flag "Tiranga" raised above Lahori gate, Red fort in Delhi on the historic day of 15th August, 1947 by our first prime minister Jawaharlal nehru.

India's independence day 2016 imageNearly 200 years of british rule ended because of nonviolent movements of Mahatma Gandhi and many Revolutionaries like Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Chandrashekhar azad, Bhagat singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev, Ram Prasad Bismil, Rani Lakshmi Bai... and list goes on and on.

When someone says 15th August or Independence day, our mind starts rendering independence day images like prime minister's speech, Flag hosting, several ceremonies, artistic and beautiful performance by artists and military.

Talking about celebration, It first focuses on flag hoisting ceremonies, parades and cultural events. People display our national flag which is known as tiranga on their vehicles, home and offices and also including various accessories like mobile phone. We are living in a digital era, whatsapp, facebook, twitter and various other social media platforms are decorated by tricolor profile pictures. Most of TV channels and media broadcast patriotic songs and patriotic movies.

We Indians never celebrate any festival alone, we are accustomed to send greetings, good wishes and quotes to our friends and relatives. Same goes for independence day.

On 15th August, the independence day of India celebration takes first place at historic site of Red fort (laal killa), Delhi. Our prime minister hoists the Indian flag tiranga and delivers his independence day speechTwenty-one gun shots are fired in honour of the solemn occasion. Prime minister and everyone pays tribute to independence movement leaders. We sing our national anthem "Jana Gana Mana".

Many other joyful events happens on this day such as. March and parades by Indian Armed forces.
